If you're talking the mainstream Marvel/DC characters, sure, but V has been a classic in more of a graphic novel sense for quite some time.
Unfortunately, some of the really good graphic novels have received questionable (and heavy-handed) conversions to the silver screen, like the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, which was an excellent book, but suffered from the normal Hollywood BS like adding characters, etc.
I thought Hellboy was done really well and transferred well to the screen, but that was because the main actor was such a perfect fit. Same with Batman Begins; you finally got someone edgy and dark, who could actually pull off "conflicted" while also being rich
