Yeah that's a bummer. But it's a great example of how important sound is to a movie... the dubbed engine noises really make things seem a lot faster than they actually are. The 1st time I saw it, I didn't think it looked that fast, but considering the gears and rpms achieved, I believed that it must have been as advertized.
I like the mention of the kid in his Nissan Pulsar that attempted to match the run himself and got arrested.
