I've seen some pics of swaps before. Lots of people like going to a flat 6 in the 914, the most popular motor being an air cooled 911 motor, turning their 914 into a 914/6.
Personally I'm really interested in an EJ motor swap. I'd love to see an EJ22 with a turbo in a 914. I figure ~300 rwhp in a 2200 lb car!
But it will be a TON of work... so, I wouldn't be trying it right away.
