Some of the best fender work I've done was with the handle of a big-ol' Craftsman crescent wrench and the side of my Sport Cups at the track. Then I pulled the tire off and did some "finish work" with a hammer to clean up the lumps.

It was actually way less work than using the roller tool... 'course at the track I was like "fuck this fender, I don't care what it looks like, I need these damn tires to fit!".
