225/50/16 sounds like a +2 fitment for something like a 195/65/14, i.e. a tire for someone putting some 16's on a Honda Civic, hence the comment that they're designed for "plus fitment".

Aw ok...seems you're correct according to the one website I googled really quick. Makes them seem way less impressive.
They are great tires though.
