That reminds me of a similar setup for my NES. . .
My 286 machine had a multimedia monitor with a/v inputs, so I kept my NES hooked up to it. Odd thing about the monitor was that it only had one audio channel, so when you switched video inputs from composite to vga, you could still hear the composite audio input.

So when I was supposed to be working on schoolwork, I'd play NES, and if my folks knocked on the door to check on me, just switch the video back to my PC (which would have wordperfect running), making it look like I was just listening to NES music.

It worked because I listened to NES music often anyway.

And watching that video reminded me of my brother getting jealous when I'd play the flight sim that we had for our Commodore 64, so I'd enlist him as my "co-pilot" and have him enter the commands for landing gear and whatnot.
