@ Kevin. You know one example does not make a significant statistic. I'm just telling you one of the reasons I don't attend more PDX's...I feel like they're harder on my car than autoX. Ironically, the times you really need a working EGT gauge is for when you're cruising partial throttle up a mild grade on the freeway, not for when you're open-loop at the track/autocross. If you're running lean enough at WOT for the EGT to show it, your tune needs major fixing!
