* advancing the timing for a little bump in low end torque is a common mod, and I was planning to set it at 14* BTDC instead of the stock 10, but that's done by simply rotating the cam angle sensor, no need to heat cycle a notoriously weak crank.
Basically, currently trying to figure out a way to afford a 1.8 swap. This 1.6 is essentially trash - at least the crank is, and no sense spending the money to rebuild a 1.6 when a 1.8 can be had for about the same money.
