I don't know how to put this but I'm kind of a big deal. People know me.
Default Help!! I can't get full throttle after a CAI install.

I'm in big trouble guys. I installed the my injen CAI and now I have the hesitation from hell. I can't give it full throttle or else it will almost kill the engine? I know it must have something to do with the MAF sensor, but I just can't pinpoint it. Help! What do I do next?

Nick, sounds like you're either having MAF trouble (hope it wasn't hurt during the install) or you are playing April's fool #17 on this board.

That's the year with the hot-film MAF, though, and those are the most susceptible to vibration damage.

Put your stock intake back on and see if you still have a the problem. Did you reset your ECU?

Is it blowing black smoke? Check if you have a leak from anything that you took off and replace*d*.

It's non-turbo, so any leaks would be vacuum leaks, which would cause it to run lean, not rich. Leanness could cause the hesitation as well, but in the EJ25 it's usually from running rich. My RS gets as low as 10.5:1 stock in open loop.

Ahh, well, still wouldn't hurt to check.

No ............not an April fools joke!! Needed help before Saturday morning. I ended up getting some help from a friend that runs a swedish automotive shop in town. He's a savior. It ended up being the oil from the air filter blowing off and coating the MAF sensor, causing it to choke out/starve the engine of fuel. I got the filter cleaned off and dried before 9:00 am Saturday morning. Runs great now. I'm wondering from the guys that were at AutoX this weekend, Does it still sound "stock"? It seems a little louder than usual.

Glad to hear the problem was resolved. I could definitely tell you had an intake, but others might assume it was exhaust.
