Car: Miata, shit. Class: Out Classed NOW WITH 100% LESS STI! | WTB: WRX Wagon Suspension Bits - Sways, Strut Tops, etc.

Need a few things for my wagon so I can swap out the suspension soon, and wanted to know if anyone has some pieces laying around from old set ups: - F/R Sway Bars - wanting 22-24 adjustable for front and rear (wagon specific front) - Groun N rear strut tops - Group N tranny mounts, engine mount, etc - Unabombers sexy rear end kit - TiC bushing kits, all of em - .25" Saggy butt shims - '06 (STI) aux jack to factory head unit cable I've been scouring Nasioc, ClubWRX, etc., and not really finding much, and would also like to stay local and whatnot. Also, will eventually need to de-tuner-ify the car, so will be looking for some not-black wheels. Gold or grey, not sure yet. Just thinking the black wheels are putting out the wrong vibe on the street, ya know? Probably end up looking for 17x8 RPF1s in gold. That's the thought at least. Ya know how that goes... Anyone have a spare set of shoes they won't use? Last edited by rory_a; 2010-10-09 at 07:45 PM. |

In a week or two, I should have some gold Boosts in good shape - no curbing, some minor nicks/chips from Tahoe winters. 17x8, ET48, 5x100. etc.

Summit has the camber bolts. You can pick them up there.

I'm contemplating spraying the Black G Forces Gold, or dark silver. I would never be happy with stock, unfortunately. So would need something that's not as ricer as black, not as flashy as gold, and not as stock as silver. What that is, I don't know. | |

And I'm afraid if I go to Summit again I'll get another jackass helping me that ends up trying to convince me there's a way that two bolts can be "staggered" as opposed to "inline" or any pattern other than "linear".

I don't think I agree, I had a wrblue wagon with the gold BBS and I thought it looked great, not flashy at all. Just don't get 18's, they would make it look more ricey even if they were in silver.

Car: Miata, shit. Class: Out Classed NOW WITH 100% LESS STI! | I was planning on the Hyper Blacks, but decided on Flat Black to work better with graphics. Now that I don't want to deal with people hating the graphic'd car, the flat black is just blah. Oh well. My focus is really just finding everything to dial in the suspension - strut tops and sways. |

When I was looking a couple years ago, the biggest wagon front sway was the the Whiteline 22mm two way adjustable. I got one from ebay since that was the cheapest source. Works great with my Kartboy endlinks. I guess some wagon people use STi fitment front bars with aftermarket endlinks that allow movement (pillowball? I forget the type). I think Perrin makes a set. I didn't want to funtz with that though.

Picked up a set or used PDE V1 camber/caster plates. Wooooot not sure about how they'll ride though, might be too harsh. Then again, bushings are up next so it'll get harsh anyway. |

I should get something like that (camber caster plates). Let me know how they effect NVH.

Considering I'm going from full stock to rce yellows and something like kyb agxs and the camber ages all at the same time, there's gonna be a whole lot more NVH much more so as I can add bushings, some of which will probably be before the suspension like trans and diff - too much slop in it right now. I thought you were on coils anyway???? Don't you have camber plates? |

I'm on Crucial springs and Koni inserts. I have camber bolts, but no camber plates. I should add camber plates though. The camber bolts are all rusted and seized up which is going to cost a bunch of labor to fix.

Ah yeah I remember that now. Hell I probably asked you that a few times last weekend. Why a bunch of labor to fix the camber bolts? Would it be possible to pull the koni insert out of the strut body so you can use heat on the bolts? |

That's definitely possible, but hopefully not necessary. I know that you can replace Koni inserts, reusing the strut bodies. I'm sure it's a PITA though. Cory tells me that all 4 aftermarket bolts are rusted and seized, so they'll need to be replaced before he can adjust my alignment. I think he estimated an hour or two in labor for that so I've just been procrastinating it. I even bought camber bolts but never put did the removal and replacement. I'll might just wait until Spring to do something about it, now. I was just thinking camber plates might be a good way to go to prevent this issue in the future.

Cody, camber plates are basically useless for you. With stock diameter springs, you can only tip them in a couple tenths of a degree before the springs contact the strut tower. You would get a little benefit out of the stiffer plate taking some squish out of the suspension, but Group N plates would get you 90% of that, with less NVH.
