Default Longacre Pyrometers

Well, it looks like Longarce either expanded their line with some cheaper pyrometers, or reduced pricing, because they've got some downright affordable pyros!

I just ordered a tire pyrometer:

AccuTech™ Deluxe Digital Pyrometer — 50640
- Accurate, super-fast response electronics
- 'Holds' highest temp reached
- Compares one temp to another with the push of a button
- Low battery indicator and auto shut-off
- 2000º Range
- ºF or ºC switchable
- Coil cord tire probe and foam lined carrying case included

and an infrared pyrometer:

AccuTech™ Infrared Laser Pyrometer - 850º — 50613
- Instant response, non-contact temps
- Back lites for nite use
- ºF or ºC
- Laser sighting for accuracy
- Padded pouch included

All for cheaper than their previous tire probe pyrometers used to cost. I'll be loaning these to any SECCS members that need 'em at the autoX for the low price of beer after the event.

Deal, did somebody say Deal? Oh, Dean, yeah that's me.

Did you buy one or both?

I have an older tire probe one that is not quite as nice, but very functional, and available for use.

I don't care for the IR ones for tires, the surface cools way to fast IMHO. They are good for brakes, intercoolers etc.

I think I have seen Infrared ones under $100, but not Lonacre

I got both. The 500deg version of the IR one used to be like $200, so to be able to get the nicer top of the line 850deg IR pyro (for brakes and I/C temps) plus the middle of the line tire probe pyro for like $270 total, I couldn't resist.

It is confirmed, Scott is infected. Before there was hope that it might just be a passing phase, but once you own 2 pyrometers, you are a goner...

Yeah, I'm done for. Since my car's about to be paid off, I feel like I've got money to spare, so I'm doing stupid things like doubling up on pyrometers.

Oh well. When they get here I'm gonna be running around the house taking the temps of everything.
