Most people don't like the movie marathon things me and my brother and roommate do, often.

Riddick was absolute boring, horrific dialogue if you can call it that. The digital landscapes were more annoyingly scenic than beautiful or organic. Most of the characers were drivin by huge on-screen initial apperance fllowed by little or no follow up. I really could not handle it. Those are my general critiques, specific story/plot realted complaints are numerous!

Dialouge? Character development? What the fuck kinda movie did you expect to see? Maybe you would be happier watching the Joy Luck Club and going and having tea next time. The movie had a lot of ass kicking and a passable plot. They makes it the perfect action movie.

I was going to start making a habit of that. Then I realized when I went to try it that they took the names of the movie that was showing off of each individual screen... would have been blundering around looking for the next one. Damn smart movie people, ruining my fun.

Not the lack of character development but the teasing of the audience for it. The director shows some amazing stunt and then the guy/girl says something "cool", you think they might have an important role in the movie, but no, they just get lost in between flash frame action sequences that have little cohesive style or structure. The plot while it may be passable was totally overshadowed by the characters that were suppose to drive it. Most of the characters had or displayed godlike powers(the necromonger removing the soul), these characters traits were somewhat plot deadening. I mean when the main bad guy can rip a soul out of body I don't care if they are looking for a world to take over anymore.

I also have to admit I walked out of Riddick after an hour and half so I did not see the ending. Did Riddick kill everyone, or was everyone killed?

Amen... if a movie can be described as "heart-warming" even in the smallest... I don't wanna see it! I like my heart cold. The only thing that's allowed to warm my heart is the heat from giant, unecessary, gratitutous explosions!

In Riddick it is "heart-warming" the way he saves the wife and young daughter from certain death. You really see his sensitive side.

yah if you didnt see "Pitch Black" you would be lost for some character backround. I thought the movie was what I expected but did think they could have done better for those that didn't see pitch black as far as who the people where.

So as far as I can tell, google thinks this is a "spoiler", and google's never wrong! Besides, I'll bet this "wing" creates zero downforce... its only use is as a spoiler... like the wing on my car.

I have to agree... Spoilers is big flat plates bolted right to the ass end of the car, a la NASCAR. Wings be what Scott gots. They don't fly, but some think they look fly... Some think they attract flys like discarded rice...

Pretty close - closed fender sedan shape cars resemble an airfoil shape themselves, so when they move through the air at high speed, they generate positive lift just like an airplane wing. Like you were saying, typically spoilers "spoil" the high velocity, low pressure air moving over the top of the car, slowing it down and regaining pressure over the rear decklid, thus reducing rear end lift. The interesting thing about spoilers is that when designed right, they can actually shift the overall rear lift coefficient from overall positive (lift generating) to overall negative (true downforce generating) - and in some cases actually reduce the overall drag coefficient at the same time... which is counterintuitive since the spoiler is usually a big flat plate sticking up in the air. It all depends on the particulars of the car body shape, placement & dimensions of the spoiler.

Wings are much easier to understand, since they're just inverted airfoils... no drag reduction (only drag gain), just downforce generation.

Then when you start getting into front-end airdam, splitter, and underbody design, it gets really interesting...
