Up for your consideration; www.radarbusters.com
I was "this" close to ordering a Valentine 1 unit and came across this site. They do acknowledge that the V1 is an awesome unit, (they even purchased one to review). This site is full of testing infomation. The results may surprise you. It puts a Bell unit above the V1. Check it out Franz |

Car & Driver does a detector round-up every few years, and every time, they pick the V1 to be head and shoulders above the rest. Plus, the direction indicators and bogey counter features are patented by V1 and once you've had 'em I doubt you can go back to any other dectector. ![]()

What scott said... Here is the 2004 motortrend tests...
http://www.motortrend.com/features/c...12_0402_radar/ V1 has the highest ratings. The Bell 985 is probably the best bang for your buck detector, but the V1 remains in a class of it's own IMHO. Please note that Radar Roy's own tests show the V1 beats the Bell in K max continous and X and K in maximum front test. I note he doesn't do any rear testing which is where the V1 kicks everyones butt.

The really important stuff is Ka (CHP/NHP radar) and Lidar (used by some large metro areas). V1 ownzors in those tests. And the real value of the arrows/strength meters is knowing immediately if it's worth slowing down for.

Until other detectors have directional led capability, they will always be inferior to the V1. It has saved me many times coming up I80 to Truckee from the cruiser creeping from behind.
Just like the add says all the others do is say Bleep! Be smart and get the V-1. It only takes one or two tickets to cover the cost. |
