Should I put up an add for a woman to drive my car? I need to meet some chicks too! I just don't have the $40,000 salary to give out.

Just tell them that your car is a regional qualifer, and if they pass your tests, they can go to the national competition.

I saw that, they are talking about it on nasioc.

Depending on how I do at Nationals, I may apply.

Why don't you guys just get a wig & shave your legs & apply too!

I went into Lithia Subaru yesterday to get the application for the lady driver, but they didn't know anything about it. They took my number and said that they are going to get in touch with the regional guy, whom they said should know about this.

It would be fun, a year traveling and racing. I figure I'll give it a shot.
Thanks for posting this!

Don't hate Scott, you don't even know the poor girl. I think they should pick a Subaru or at least a rally gal.

Sure I don't know her, but the thread about her on NASIOC is pretty funny. I think it's been moved, since I can't find it, but there's a bunch of stuff from her website about how she rallies, autocrosses, drifts, does all her own work on the car, etc, etc... then one of her friends posted up "yeah, she's been to one rallycross, and swapped her endlinks... me and her friends did all the rest of the work on her car.

High aspirations are one thing, but you should probably accomplish you goals before you list them on your racing resume.

I think ESX needs to pick one of the girls with significant drag experience. This whole "let's get a woman driver" thing is worthless unless they pick someone that can win. That Joanna chick has the least impressive resume (especially if most of it is BS) and is probably the hottest of the finalists. Picking her would be for marketing purposes only, and IMO contrary to the whole point of this "contest".

I think they should pick Michele (the first girl I posted) but they'll probably end up picking some idiot dragging racing whore. Don't judge people from here-say on the internet Scott. If I did that I would think you were a sexually frustrated loser who trys to compensate by making empty threats of running people over with tanks and what not. That's only partially true.

Well, *everything* on the internet is hearsay... I never said I totally believe her or her detractors... however, the people tearing into her have a much more believeable story than she does.

And, that shit aside... seven years of AutoX, and participation in rally/rallycross and drifting harldy holds a torch to 10 year drag veterans, or women that drag 1200rwhp turbo mustangs, or women that have drag WRXs themselves as far as looking for a drag racing driver. I'm willing to bet Jo's on the list because she's hot as hell, and not because of her driving credentials alone. I can't blame ESX for giving her a shot because of the marketing gold mine that a woman as hot as Jo would be, but I'd rather see them sign someone that has a chance at being a dominating champion right out of the box.

So you'd take experience...over hotness? It would be good for them to have a new comer on the scene who is hot and socialable IF she can drive well enough (it's drag racing for god's sake )

I just think it's a disrespectful slap in the face if ESX puts together a great program to help a woman break into a male dominated sport then skips over the more qualified women that have paid their dues and put in a ton of work already just look for an opportunity like this, only to be passed over for some noob hottie.

Get off that high horse Scott. It will come down to who can do the job best. If that's Jo then so be it. Like I said, I prefer Michele.

If you think sticking up for the people that have worked hard to get where they are is being on a high horse, then I guess I'm all saddled up.

From what I've read (hell on the ESX page alone) that Jo chick isn't even in the same company as some of those others... I can't imagine she can do as good a job as those other women who have been drag racing for years.
