Default K&N short ram intake?

What do you folks think. I know I've always heard that these do nothing for our cars. Now someone is showing 12whp gain w/o tuning. Is this thing worth it or no? They have a group buy on it for $160, and have more than met the group buy number.

Any thoughts?

Don't buy it, it doesn't do anything. I can get 12whp on the dyno on any car with no mods. Dynos lie, it's that simple. Unlss you plan on putting a very large turbo on the car, the intake system is not a restriction.

Anybody notice it took them an hour and a half to install it. I wonder if the car cooled down during that time?

I'm sure it is high quality, and K&N makes pretty good stuff, but I think you can find more speed with your $160 by going to a driving school.

Best mod for that price is a rear sway bar (then new boost fluid)

Yeah nick I did it and it actually dyno 4whp less than Matts did at S Squard early this year! But it does make it sound really cool The Blow off sounds like its in the glove box its loud! I have the short ram
they did ship me two of them but the 2nd filter needs to be cleaned the one that I bought didnt come with the heat shield like K&N one does and thats why it took 30min to instal that heat shield is a bitch to get in place I read If you are loking for more go with the drop in and that short snorkle that goes in the fender This is the one I have!

ricer boys are we? ahahahahahaha everyone loves teh sucking sound an intake makes with a turbo.. OHHH btw, the RAM air intake is much louder and you get alot more turbo noise than with the cold air intake system. I would get one for my car.. if it didn't cost 300 dollars! ahahaha
