The engine is another area of complete reconstruction. To begin with, it's been mounted 30mm lower than standard to help lower the car's centre of gravity but not before a complete rebuild. The capacity is still two litres but the pistons, conrods and crank are all custom Zero/sports items. The throttle body now measures 65mm and the turbo is an IHI RX6 custom mounted with a race gate. Trust provides air filtration and venting on gear changes and the intercooler and radiator have been V-mounted on the front. This allows for very short inlet piping and better throttle response as well as better cooling. A Zero/sports ECU takes care of the 1s and 0s and a full 80mm titanium exhaust frees up a few extra kilowatts and kilograms. On the Dynapack the car managed 400ps. Not outrageous but good, reliable power and that's what's needed on the circuit. Speaking of circuits, the car holds several time attack titles for WRXs, including Tsukuba Circuit where it scored a lap time in the 57 second bracket. The man chosen to steer the car to its wins is Yamada Eiji, a well known Formula D driver here in Japan. The car's consistent performance has earned itself an invitation to Phoenix International Raceway in the US for time attack race on May 12th.

Is it just me or does it look in this pic like their camber plates are positioned incorrectly - to adjust front-to-back instead of left-to-right?

Some people are starting to do that, because the slight loss of camber is more than compensated for (for some drivers) by the significant caster gains.

If you swap top mounts left to right, and rotate them like that, you can get a moderate amount of negative camber (that you can suplement w/ camber bolts) and a bunch of caster, which gie you dynamic camber (which is far more valuable than static camber).

Or if you're smart, you'll get caster/camber plates that gain you both and are adjustable for conditions w/ a little predictability.
