It made you think, or atleast it made me think. It strings the entire story together and the ending is badass.

The camera work and editing was amazing. Not that you notice it during the scene so much as it flows very well, but while you catch your breath in one of the brief lulls, you kind of say "wow" to yourself. What did I just see and how did I see it all?
It was kind of the opposite of "bullet time" It was zoom in. spin around close up in real time. I'm glad they had the high angle shots telling you what city you were in so you could remember to breathe. The story wasn't too bad either Tyson will likely disagree and crush me like a bug with a litany of director specific gobbledy gook, but I really liked it too. Heck I'd go see it again at full price just to see what I missed the first time. I hope they quit while they are ahead, and they decide to make a #4, I have the titles for them... Bourne Again Re Bourne Bourne Free Still Bourne

Well, if they do number 4, I'd assume they'd base the title and plot off the 4th book The Bourne Legacy, although it is the first Bourne book not by the original author.

The camera work was so harsh that Lisa got motion sick, and had to close her eyes for about half the movie.
Even I thought it was too hard to see anything with the perpetual shaking... though it does make the movie seem more exciting.

Were you sitting in the first row?
I haven't seen it yet, payday is Wednesday, and everyone I know who has seen it is recommending it.

Sat in the 1st row of the "Back", i.e. a little in front of the middle of the theater, which is where we always sit.

I wouldn't mind going, but it will have to be after wednesday.
Hey Scott, I got sick one time during a cartoon movie, I don't remember what movie it was, but I was sitting in the front row. When Saving Private Ryan came out in the theaters the only three seats left were in the front. We had a blast watching that movie from up close and personal. LOL.

I've only been motion sick once in my life... sitting in the middle of a DC-10 while landing at MSP in weather, but I didn't actually puke. And I was close when I turned my head at 3G's in the centerfuge at Space Camp, but recovered in a few seconds. And I love sitting close to the screen at the movies, 'cause I like filling my peripheral vision... but there's something about the Bourne movies that's just over done.
It's just a little too jittery. When the saw Bourne 2, I *was* sitting too close... but I sat where I always sit for the last one, and it was too shaky. Not motion-sick shaky, just so jittery that it's hard to see what's actually happening... I'm sure it's on purpose, but it is annoying. I can see why people that get motion sick are bothered by the flick.

*spoilers* Is that implied?
I had no problems with the up close editing. It added a nice style to the action scenes. It does get a bit boring seeing the same old fight scene in "mortal kombat" view. Greengrass is kinda of a newb in the action genre, although United 93 was a great film. The small plot devices like the Julia Stiles stuff seemed out of place to me. A couple of her parting lines really opened up a lot of questions as to how long Jason may have been in the program. I'm not sure if that's was Greengrass was going for. The flashbacks in the last half of the film were good. I would have liked to see more a of trigger on the flashbacks. They seemed to happen at random times, just to help build tension in the film. I don't really think that's a bad thing just a personal preference. Robby, I think this was the least "make you think" of all the Bourne films. It lead itself to a pretty typical end. Greengrass took over in the last 2 films. I think trilogies or epics like for example LOTR should have a beginning-middle-end and the tension should follow. Half-way through this film I felt Greengrass knew the jig was up. Although Bourne Identity was good starter filck, I'm sure Greengrass felt obligated to build an ending, and that's a tough way to start a film. The introduction of so many "new" characters was one of the things holding back the cohesive nature of the trilogy. Most of my views represent personal taste and not really criticisms. Bourne Ultimatum was a good film.
