Default 07 wrx daytime running lights

So I cut the wire for my DRL's on my 07 wrx ltd so I could instal an HID kit. Initially I found that unless I turned off my fog lights the DRL's would turn on randomly after I started driving. Now a couple days ago I saw that they were flashing off and on in the reflection of the car in front of me. Any ideas on how to fix this? Maybe a grounding issue or something? Could use some help. Thanks.

Reconnect the wire and see if things go back to normal.

Since it is likely a relay, resistor and diode scenario, cutting wires can cause weird reverse flows, it sounds like through the emergency flasher/blinker circuit.

Your HID kit may be contributing to that path. How is it wired in? Is it '07 specific or "generic"

Lows, fogs and DRLs are all related. Get back to normal operation and then start over. You may have blown or fused something you will have to fix to get back to normal.

I think it's generic... McCullogh HID kit. Pretty disappointed with all the problems I've had with them. Right now I'm just driving around with my lights turned on all the time. Maybe I'll just start saving to by an entire STI Headlight assembly and do it right.

I've read a few reviews (all good) of these: http://www.crucialracing.com/products/hid.php

Well, sounds like I may have more complex problems other than just the lights themselves according to Dean. I'm not so savvy with wiring etc... may need some help on this one.
