Yes, there is water in my car. I've soaked it up multiple times and it keeps coming back. I don't have any idea where it is coming from. It is both in the front and rear on the driver side. I've also noticed that if I don't soak it up right away, that the water level will stay the same. Where can the water be coming from? I do know that there is a little tube in the wheel well, do you guys think its coming in through there? Please help me, I don't need a rust bucket!

Could it be coming in from outside or under the car? I know we've gotten a lot of precipitation here in Reno lately. I'd think that because the car could kind of create a humidifier box that the water wouldn't decrease. Are you sure it's water? O_O

Slide the sunroof open and check for obstructions in the drain tubes there. Then check the door seal and the window seal on the driver's side back.

The sunroof doesn't open yet. It sat outside in the snow while I was swapping it. I have a feeling its not hte sunroof. Nothing up above is wet.
I did notice that there is a tube on each side of the car in the fenders that goes into the car. Do you guys think it is coming in from there? Maybe what I'll do is wait for the weather to clear up and park my car for a couple days, continue to dry it out and see what happens. Im positive its water, it has no smell or coloration to it (other than brown from the mud) and all my fluids everywhere else are good. |

Take pictures of these tubes inside and out if you can. Are you missing fender liners that should be covering those tubes? Any vent tubes should have baffles, be uphill and/or be blocked from spray in one or more ways.

Isn't there a AC condensation drain tube on all the Impreza's? I remember hearing that if it becomes of obstructed or is removed the floorboards will get water from the condensation that the AC compressor creates.

That's good to. The AC is on whenever the defrost is on, and if that tube did not make it back through the firewall when you did the swap...

If the AC drain was backed up it would flood the passenger side I think.

I might guess a missing DS fender liner, as I was having the same problem. Mine was caused by some extra wiring I ran through the boot that goes from the fenderwell to the inside of the car right behind the fuse box under the dash. Every time it would rain or snow my carpet would get soaked. I put the fender liner in and it fixed it for the most part. A little still gets by, I need to silicone the boot to make it watertight again.
