Somebody with a pool/spa? Mostly empty plastic jug of Muriatic acid (low grade Hydrochloric Acid) might do that.
That stuff is nasty enough just using it correctly with the chlorine gas it gives off ignoring the corrosive part. I always dilute and neutralize a bottle when it is "empty".
