My car was slow!! Not my fault!!

It sucks driving a real clean line and having some 12 year old kid go sliding by me like I was letting him pass !

You just like women that are faster than you.

Wait, so do I!

How come there are so few women in motorsports? It's one of the few sports where strength, agility, and size (the normal "excuses" why women and men are in different leagues ) aren't the most important factor. In fact since women are smaller and lighter on average, they actually should be *better* than men for racing... (flying fighter aircraft too, but that's a whole other rant) The car does all the hard work, women should be just as fast as men... so why are there so few in the sport?

Poor Shawna Roberts... the only woman in NASCAR, and she's not very good (not because she's a "she" but because I watched her spin all alone on the 2nd lap at Fontana cuz her tires were cold. Rookie way to end your day ) NASCAR needs a female Jeff Gordon to build female acceptance in motorsports. F1 could use some women again too.

You can't drive a real clean line with karts and be fast the way you would with a car, you have to really throw them around to go fast. Two entirely different styles of driving...

Fast women? And I was trying to be subtle to start with.

You bring up a good question, why are there so few women in motorsports? From my perspective - initimidation factor, for one. Fear of the unknown, fear we can't do it, not enough supportive men to instigate us to try. Then when we do try it, we don't start off with enough confidence to push the car and our skills unless someone is coaching/mentoring/screaming at us to gas gas gas, brake brake brake, and to stop coasting!

But anyway, guys, encourage your girlfriends/wives/sisters/mothers/co-workers to try some driving events or experiences. Bring them out to an autocross and encourage them to be a passenger first. They might like it, and then they might want to try it too.

btw - Imprezton, you are charming.

How do you propose I thow the car down a straight line? I'd take a straight line thru the esses, and I'd have people passing me on the ouside the whole way!! That kart I had SUCKED.

I guess it didn't help that I weigh like 220, and those little kids were like a buck-oh-five TOPS. But my primary issue was my kart... you could just hear that I wasn't getting as many rpms as the other karts.

Oh well, next time!!

I pretty much wasted you guys/gals around the track!

It was fun though, I'll admit I had done it like 6 times before.

I think there will be plenty of women in motorsports in the coming years. With NASCAR exploding, all those midwest wives who watch the races with their husbands are gonna start seeing role models. And the NASCAR advertisers are'nt going to want to alienate that large of a buying market, who buys the Tide in the house anyway the man? I don't think so. Well I buy my Tide but I'm a bachelor.

Well, if you can zip them into 5 MB zips per email, then I can take them, but I think IGT will reject email over 5 mb.

I'll pm you my email, I don't want to post it for fear of spam.

You guys need to come down here and do some racing with real karts... if a helmet isn't required, you're not going fast enough.
