I noticed these on ebay and a post on nasioc.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...spagename=WDVW 600$ for a full set of coilovers? What is the trick? Seems to have everything that a normal set has, including dampening.

They're not damping-adjustable, which is a limitation. But I'm curious about them too, as I need higher spring rates and more damping, as well as more travel (I hit the bumpstops when loaded on my current setup, as Reno guys can attest
![]() I'm waiting on some answers on spring size, becuase if I can use ERS stuff, it's a no-brainer for me right now. I could probably sell my GC setup to someone who doesn't want to go as low, for a good chunk of that price.....

These or their knock off cousins have been around for a while.
They are really only height adjustable, no Bump or rebound adjustments. You could preload the springs, but since the damping is not adjustable, only a single setting will likely match the damping. While they do not list the spring rates, I would bet they would be similar to the stock setup, perhaps a little stiffer. They also appear to be a fixed rate spring which may or may not provide a bouncy ride. It also appears that it will require you to sacrafice your existing stock struts to reuse the lower bracket as they do not appear to have a lower bracket. If it looks to good to be true, it probably is.

The spring rates are reported as 450 front, 350 rear. Linear.

The images in the auction look like Honda setups, which is one of my other sticking points. They don't look like inserts in any way. Hell, I may swing by Golden Apple next time I'm in Hayward to take a look myself.

As both Scott and I can attest, you will run out of fender on most setups before you run out of shock throw.
Minimum Ride height with 225/45/17 Azenis appears to be about 13&7/8"-14" from wheel center to wheel well lip. Any lower, and it is the tire hitting the fender, not the bump stops on a WRX in autocross type handling.

Oh, I know it. I just want to have little more usable travel in the rear, where I've *made* fender room, while keeping it at the current height. My car isn't that low, it's just a suspension setup not originally designed in any way for the OB in terms of strut lengtsh, so it works, but can be improved considerably with some small changes, like a DA setup; I can then spec springs to match whatever the damping rate actually is, and do it considerably cheaper than any other aftermarket option (no readily available Legacy solutions, and I'm not spending $1500+ on a good set of coilovers that are very well designed, but for something totally different than my car.)
Who knows. I'll see what Matt thinks when he gets them.
