How did you get the Flex Coilovers?!?! I thought those weren't coming out in a while. Do you know if they are worth it? I can't get a straight answer out of TEIN about them. I need to know if they are for sport or competition driving.

The Flex's have been available for the WRX for a few months now, but supply may still be limited. I'm not quite sure what variable dampers do for AutoX classing tho... you might be out of Street Mod Evan!

Yeah, I forgot the EDFC was an option for the FLEX's and not standard.

How soon till you get the Flex's installed? I'm really curious to see how the day-to-day ride quality is. I'm looking for a set of coilovers, but I'm worried about the dreaded clunking and having the ride too harsh/noisy for long distance driving since I drive over Donner a lot.

I may just go for some adjustable STi struts w/ the lowering springs, etc. But I think all that will be in the $2000+ range!

I am doing the install thursday or friday I cant wait these things are so nice just wait till I come back I will take you for a ride. I would not go the the strut and spring way coilovers are way stronger and lighter and the TEIN's are real nice not harsh at all.

I've heard horror stories about the non-RA Tein's clunking a lot. Chances are it's just installation issues... Tein seems to think there's nothing wrong.

But mostly I'm concerned about pillow-ball mounts... they're noisey, no matter how you cut it, since it's metal on metal. And since the rear top-hats are actually in the driver's compartment under the rear seats, I'm worried the noise would just bother me too much. I'm already considering gutting and dyno-matting my complete interior just to dampen out all the NVH I have.

The STi stuff had the reputation of being very M3 like. If I can get my car to ride like an M3 I'd be STOKED. Granted it's not as stiff or as fast as coilovers would be on the AutoX course, it would be a decent compromise between the racing and long distance/daily driving I do. Plus my adjustable rear swaybar would allow me to tune out the understeer for track driving.

Besides doing the full STi struts/springs/mounts/lateral links setup would OWN. Lot's of pink parts !!
