Find a coupon in one of the weekly mailers... GK Smog on Glendale next to 395, and next to Kragen on 5th & Keystone has one for $20.

Tyson if you insurance with the other bills is to much to handdle in one month you should get your insurance to change the billing cycle to Feb. or Mar.

Tyson, you shouldn't have any issues with smog, since you've still got the factory cats (if they even bother to inspect) and the test is a simply plug-in to the OBD-II port and start/idle the car.

Just make sure you don't have any CELs, and put your silencer in (less noise = less chance they'll bother with inspection). Also, I think you car is 100% legal in Nevada since I think we're allowed to replace mufflers.

Also, if you want a place that will pass you w/o much hassle, I go to this beat-down little shop on S. Virginia just between WinCo and the freeway enterence on the East side of the road. It's called JKS auto or something... there's a little used car lot next to it.

Don't you still have to be under 95 dB?

They "inspect" cars? I'm thinking maybe they can, but don't, since you know my car doesn't sound stock, and I've got that big fat shiny Cobb intake staring them in the face when they pop the hood. they probably jsut didn't care.

The only required inspections in Washoe County are gas filler sized for unleaded only, and catalytic converter I believe. Only CA requires things like intake to have CARB stickers, etc. Oh, and no visible smoke. Though in winter, they seldom like to look under the car, so go on a cold/wet day, and they probably won't even look for a cat.

I passed .

They (the greasy dude) did even give a hint at looking at anything. He only concentrated on plugging the port in the ODB and printing the report and NOTHING else.

Sounds par for the course. That's how my smog checks go.
