My new STI came with 2 good, 1 OK, and 1 borked Azenis RT215s in 225/45-17.
There isn't enough left on the ones I have on the WRX (2 corded, 2 slicks) Looking for one OK to Good one from somebody, or looking for someone who wants a good deal on the three I have. OK means it has at least 1/32" of tread left accross all but possibly the edge of the shoulder. ![]() I'd hate to have to toss 2 perfectly good tires, and one OK one.

I ordered a pair of 615s
I can adjust grip by putting the sticky new ones front/rear, or side/side. Diagonal could be fun.

on a slightly related note, is there any sort of tool (cheap) to shave tires? i have 2 used RE070s with aprox 4-5 MM of tread and i'm suppost to buy 2 more with about the same tread from an iwsti user. but if the tread depth is a big difference i'de like to maybe shave the newer ones down a touch. In the autoX rules it states you can have your car up on blocks & running for tire shavin purposes at the actual events. (but it makes no mention of how to do that) i'm sorta guessing there's a tool for that. but maybe you just have to hold sand paper to it for a long time.

Just take them somewhere and have it done. Far safer and easier, and probably cheaper too.

I just did the math.. 4/32nds of an inch tread depth difference on a 24" tire is a whopping 1.0% difference in circumference.
I wouldn't sweet it unless it is more than that. Most tires start with 9-10/32nds.
