Hey Nkoan, Vegas does have some ESP cars. Does anyone ever take a run down to Vegas for an event to take care of there itch?

I would if they hadn't recently lost their site...their season is up in the air.

Hope they can line up another site. I'd like to run down that way in Feb. If the wife can get some time off.

Not sure where you heard that. LVR has 4 sites or more. They are still locking down the schedule and number of events, but they have sites.

Buffalo Bill's at Prim/Stateline, (first event 1/2
Boulder City PD
Sam Boyd stadium (Night time Summer events)
Nellis AFB
Spring Mountain (To expensive)
LVMS (Expensive, and currently not available due to construction)

I read in sccaforums that they are losing the Boulder City site, which is a major chunk of their schedule

Damn, missed those threads. Boulder was a great site as I understand. Hope they get Nellis lined up. Assuming all goes well, I should make the 28th.

Is that roller coaster still there (Primm)? If so, ride one ride for me!

Oh, and Joeyy: there are autox's in N. Calif too, Mark and I may go to one next Sunday (need to be an SCCA member):

Also, SFR autocrosses are great if you're looking for top-level competition and a taste for what National Tour events are like. But you won't get many runs due to the number of competitors.

I'm thinking about late Feb if the wagon's new mods are ready. I can't go next weekend because I'm working.

You more than welcome to come and compete this Sunday in Everett for this season's first auto-x with Heidi and I!

Had a load of fun at SFR's 'Boondogle' autox today. They have what I consider a well-running system: 3 stations at the registration table, the first station is where they immediately entered our name/car information into a laptop, and printed out bar code stickers (one for membership that can be affixed to the back of the scca member card, the others for running*). At the next station, they wanded the bar code and took payment, and the 3rd station was for worker signup. If we go back to an SFR event this year, we get to skip the first workstation, and go to the 2nd workstation, scan our barcode (no more writing down information on any paper; no illegible entries on registration signup sheets); pay, then sign up to work. It appears to be a nicely streamlined process.

During the run group, there is a 'pre-starter' who scans the barcode on the car, which transmits the car and driver information to the timing system on their bus. No more mis-typing.

The event was at Oakland Colliseum today, where the surface is nice, smooth asphalt; and while there are light poles on the lot, the course designers did a great job of designing around them. I never noticed them while running. (Unlike the Squaw event last year, where I did notice the fixtures and worker stations while I was running.)

Add 50-200 more people per event, and therby allow for the 3+ additional worker positions... Our system supports all the technical bits, just have to buy them, and oh, find people competent to operate them...

We have a hard enough time finding people who can write and type for some run groups.

And an even harder time for entrants to legibly write their own entry information on a piece of paper was my point.

Indeed. Anything that takes away a chance for a participant to screw something up on paper is good.
