I am not sure how much I could help, but I could try. Maybe Sperry knows a little about the V1.

Unless you are using a hidden location or indicator, the V-1 is a simple plug 'n play. The only thing about the windshield mount is that the power suply wire is straight across the access to the sound system. The V-1 also has the transformer built into the outlet plug, so hard-wiring is a tad more difficult.
It sure is an expensive unit, but if it saves you green stamps from the NHP, it's well worth the cash. |

The detector will come with a pretty complete set of instructions for installation, including a specialized connector for hard-wiring. If you can install hi-fi components this shouldn't be much of a challenge. If it's too much for you, I suspect a sixer of finely-crafted adult malt beverages will gain you a quality installation from many in the community

I put mine above the rearview mirror. There's power up there for the auto-dimming mirror that's ACC switched, which is perfect for the V1. Remember, the higher up the detector, the better it's range is!!
I also got the remote display, but I've found that just above the mirror is actually pretty nice, so I haven't installed the display... if anyone can come up with a dope remote display location, I'm all ears! You can kinda see how it's installed in this picture: ![]()

Sperry:
Two Questions: 1. What IS all that crap in the corner of your garage? * 2. What's with the open hole in the gauge pod, a trash receptical or something worse? ![]() *There's NO WAY I'm posting any pictures of my garage 'cause it looks like a war zone. Did you have any difficulty with the power supply connection to the V-1? I understand the lighter plug doubles as a step-down transformer. |

Okay.. that's an old picture...
That crap covered table (yes, there's a table under there somewhere) has since been replaced with a real workbench... The missing gauge is a clock that was at Autometer being re-bezeled to match the sport-comp series gauges. Those gauges have since been installed in Art's car. I'm going with Defi gauges now... 'course I only have the boost gauge cuz those things are ungodly expensive... someday I'll have the digital display unit and the associated sensors.

Oh, and regarding clean garages... mine has to stay fairly clean since it's a 1 car garage (apt. complex) and there's no room for too much mess, or the garage becomes useless. That's why I got rid of that table... I needed a real bench with cabinets and drawers.
