Default Stock exhaust for 98 RS for sale or borrow? Struts/springs/tophats?

Hi,

Need to pass smog. Failed with the hi flow cat. I have the header and brospeed muffler, but i need the midpipe. If anyone has one for sale or that I could borrow to pass that'd be great. Or if you have the whole system, that'd be great, as i don't know if my old cats are still good. They passed about 3 years ago but have been sitting under my deck (covered) since then. May be selling the brullen SS header, hi flow cat (no check engine light) and 5zigen fireball catback/midpipe.

Also, if anyone has the original strut assemblies, i'd be interested in buying those if they're cheap enough. I will probably be selling my car at some point so may sell my Koni inserts with cut assembly and prodrive springs and group N tophats. Depends on what i can get for the car if I keep all the extras on there.

thanks,

Mark

Out of curiosity, what manuf. HFC do you have, and how many miles on it?

Default Magnaflow

It's a magnaflow welded into the 5zigen midpipe.
If anyone has just a stock midpipe i could borrow for a day, that would work to, just to get this thing smogged.

So you have a magnaflow cat in there and it still didn't pass? I have that same cat in my exhaust so I guess I will see next month if it passes or not.

Joel, you are in Nevada, which simply requires an OBD-2 inspection for smog. If your CEL is not on, and the monitors are set, you pass.

Mark is in California, which requires a Dyno for 2wd cars, and tail pipe test for ALL cars, and a visual inspection for ALL cars. Replacing your cat with a high flow one, even if the car's tailpipe emissions are clean enough to pass, is still considered "tampering" and you fail.

Ahhh. I didn't see that he was in CA. My dad had to smog his F350 the other day and they threw it on a dyno so when I saw this post I just assumed that Nevada had made more smog changes.

Is it a Diesel? They require dyno testing here for them, just not gas engines. Yet.

Bump to see if anyone has the stock spring/strut/tophat assemblies for a 98 RS that they'd sell.
