Default Top 10 worst car names

As voted by cars.com (I am glad to see two Subies made the cut ) :

http://autos.yahoo.com/articles/auto...rst-car-names/

At Cars.com, we spend a lot of time discussing how a car handles, what it looks like or how it performs in crash tests, among other things. Sometimes, however, our very first impression of a car comes from its name — and the impression isn't always a good one. Below are 10 vehicles from the past 30 years with names so awful and awkward that we're sometimes surprised consumers gave them a shot. Keep in mind this list is based solely on the car's name and has absolutely nothing to do with the car's actual merits

I've always had a problem with Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Nine Mitsubishi Racing. It's just way too fucking long.

That's what she said.

That's not as bad as "Subaru Impreza World Rally Experimental Subaru Technica International".

Except that's not the Subaru Impreza WRX STI's name.

The longest Subaru is the "Subaru Impreza WRX STI Spec-C Type RA" if I remember correctly.

That's what the name stands for right? See Bob's post. Is that the Evo's name?

Well Bob's isn't the name of the car either. "Mitsubishi EVO IX MR" isn't all that long.

FQ-360 = "Fucking Quick 360hp" ...seriously.

But I don't think the car is actually named "Lancer Evolution Nine etc". I thought they dropped the "Lancer" and shortened Evolution to "EVO" when the car came to the US. Also, the numbers have always been roman numerals, haven't they?

Then again, the FQ models are UK only IIRC... so who knows what those limey bastards call that pile.

Even worse is the Mitsubishi Pajero, which is why its known as the Montero where Spanish is widely spoken (including the US). Its named after the scientific name of a mountain cat from Patagonia, but is also slang for 'wanker.'

I have always thought that was an odd name, given its popularity with the hispanic community.

There are so many Spanish derivatives in the automotive industry:

Mercedes, Cordova, Nova, Matador (one of my favorite AMC creations), Camaro, etc...

I wonder if that's just in mexican, because IIRC "Pajero" is slang for "LIAR" in Spanish

Yes, I'll fix it for you. Again.

Let's see......in the list should be:
"Hummer" (the male ego-enhancing H2-H3 derivatives, not the HMMVW)
"Nitro" (a gay little excuse for an SUV)
"Ram" (Ram what, other people off the road?)
"Crossfire" (you mean like in road rage wars?)
"Outlander" (these crossovers still scream "Flatlander"!)
"Swift" (no.......no, it isn't.)

Weird. I never had a problem with the swift. It's not a bad name for a nimble little city car.

And while the crossfire name doesn't make any sence, it's not a bad name.

But all those dodges are retarded, probably moreso because of the car itself than the name. But still, retarded.
