Question Oil cooler/ heat exchanger help!!!! 2004 Subaru wrx

Hello, I really need some help! I have an 04 Subaru wrx. The other day I backed out of my driveway an bottomed out!!! As I started driving I seen that all of my oil was on my street! So I Shut her down an checked her out an pulled the oil filter off, the oil sanwitch plate an heat exhanger to find out what happend. So I find out the stud that bolts the oil cooler hey exchanger in the block had broken out of the block an had takin out half the threads. There are enough threads to mount something into the block but with the oil heat exchanger now the stud is to short! So Ive been searching and searching an only found few ideas. If I were to replace it with a oil filter relocation kit would I still need the oil heat exchanger? Or would an oil cooler kit work?

Another one of the studs that hold the cooler to the block would fix the problem it sounds like. Number 7 here: http://opposedforces.com/parts/impre...cooler_engine/

Is the stud broken, or did it pull all of the threads that it can reach out?

I think by stud he means #7 in the picture.

In theory, yes, you could bypass the cooler/exchanger by putting a hose to replace the water passage and put on a remote cooler, but you may need to fab a shorter "stud" to hold on the remote cooler connector at which point, why not fab a longer one to continue to use the cooler.
