Anybody know where I can pick one up in town? I need something around the size of a 3 inch outside diameter. I'm trying to fix my leaky power steering pump.

Um, that's an odd request. Shouldn't you get a replacement for the actual gasket that's leaking?

There is no gasket, just the two o-rings, the little one and the big one. |

Either way, did you check to see if there's a Subaru part number for it?

Yellow page under hydraulics. Local shops have most common sizes or Theoringstore.com has everything.

Alright...the guy who tried that before me isn't having much luck. Think I am just going to order a re-maunufactured one, unless somebody has a turbo model power steering pump around |

Did you call around? There are few if any magically special o-rings that cannot be found locally or at the link I posted if you really want to rebuild it.

The guy in that thread who rebuilt his ordered ,from that website, a bunch of o-rings. He found the correct fit. He reassembled the pump and filled it with fluid and let it sit, he says its still leaking from the seals. We have been talking about it on IWSTi. Seems a little to bleak and I can't leave my car down for more than a weekend.

He probably got the wrong durometer for the high pressure side or miss sized them. Oh well. Did you find a decent deal on a rebuilt? Might also consider a low mile used one from a dismantler.

Thanks Dean. Yeah I will try and find something. OEM pumps are around $400..which I don't have or want to spend. A1 Cardone has re-manufactures from $125-175 depending on the site. But every site I check has a terrible review and seems sketchy. Oh, and none of the auto part stores around here can order them...

Don't buy the A1/Cardone pump. I have one in my FXT and I'm not pleased with it. The other brands should be okay though. I'll look up some pricing in the morning and send you a PM on what I can get.
