True, just over the crest from the Great Basin. Andrews Experimental Forest in Oregon, west of Bend a couple hours.

That was the Bison Fire in the Pine Nut range earlier this year. The viewing angle was from the southeast after it crested the ridge and started down towards Smith Valley.
