Car: 2004WRX Class: Baby-Hauler/GroceryGetter | Valve cover gasket question.

I am in the process of replacing the gaskets on my valve covers and I was wondering where I'm supposed to put the silicone? I watched a youtube video of a guy only putting it on the round side of the D shaped plugs, but then I've read several people posting about putting it all over the outside gasket. The only thing I know for certain is that I don't want to do the job a second time.

Wouldn't I create a leak by only doing a partial silicone?

Joel, if you want to stop by the shop we can print you out the service manual pages showing where the silicon goes.

I knew it was there. It's just that it had been so long since I've pressed the new thread button.
