Those StopTechs are teh hotness. How did they feel on track? That's what we have on the front of our racecar, and they work great for us...

I've still got a minor issue w/ the pedal feel seeming too soft, but the car stops NOW anytime you get on 'em, and there isn't even a hint of fade. I friggen LOVE them!

Since I've started getting into the higher speed events, it's easily the best mod I've done. Even a stock car would benefit from a set of StopTechs on the track... it takes out the biggest worry I had (brakes going away) and adds a layer of saftey, since you can brake at 80% all day long and have that extra 20% more in case you f-up a corner and go in a little deep.

Here's my fastest lap... maybe Dean can learn a thing or two, since he's half a second behind me, on race tires.

Austin, what size does the race car have, and how much does it weigh?

Scott, the STi master cylinder will solve the pedal issues. With the smaller MC piston size, you get more travel for a given amount of brake force. Plus I'm pretty convinced your MC is fuxored anyway.

The MC is fine. The brakes work great, and are very consistant... they just have a lot of pedal travel. I figured out how to heel-toe differently so I can do it while the pedal is down near the floor. I'm actually using the top/side of my foot now to press the throttle

They're 13" rotors, 4-piston calipers. The car weighs in the neighborhood of 3200lbs loaded.

Adjusting either the pedal arm ratio or the M/C piston size will change how much travel the brake pedal has, if you want to change it.

Austin, the Mustang kit looks identical to the one on my car:

'04 STi BBK:
332mm (13.07") x 32mm (1.26") Slotted two piece rotors
ST-40 4-piston calipers (red)
SS brake lines

I'm also using the StopTech Club-Spec race pads for track use, which are just about the cheapest race pads I could find that have a stock rear WRX fitment.

These brakes are unstoppable, er... extra-stoppable!!

OK, you beat me Sunady, but I nee to put up a little defense here...

I beat you by 2.8 seconds Saturday, so I think I win for the 2 day overall event...

You drove very well, congratulations.

What is very interesting is that despite my worsening fuel cut out on Sunday around the north turn around, I still posted faster split times on that end of the course according to Matt... I do not know where I lost all that time on the south end...

Gotta listen to the video I guess.

In watching the video, Scott was very smooth through the mess at the end of the straightaway...before turn around 2...I think he gained a lot of time there, I seemed to be a bit choppy, but began trail braking just a bit and smoothed it out.

Also, his car is totall flat around the turnaround, and on the power very early, I know that's where he killed me...I lost most of my time in the turnarounds...

And of course, my line on the 3rd Sunday run was not the fastest

[Grunholm]The driver had a 124 in him, but the damn car could only get a 126[/Grunholm]

No need to get defensive!

I think my WRX has a significant power/weight advantage over the Stealth. I think you'd have creamed me if you drove my car.

That said, I was very happy with my runs on Sunday. I really picked up a lot over Saturday, which is expected I guess since Saturday was my 1st Solo Trials event ever. I don't think I pushed the car as fast as it could go, simply because I was a little anxious about keeping it under control. Even on my fastest lap, I lifted in several spot where I'm sure the car could have gone flat out (listen to my throttle in the offset on the back section, especially on the way back after turn around #2). I think my car was capable of a 2 minute lap that morning.. but I certainly wasn't.
