in all seriousness, do you have steering rack bushings? They really help the feel and reduce slop. You may like them, even if they don't really affect your ratio.

That's what I would have guessed. If you're just trying to reduce heat in the engine bay during regular driving it'll work great; if you track the car and are looking to reduce aero lift, then it's hurting you.

I'm not sure how it would be hurting anything, cooling or lift, compared to a large scoop forcing air and pressure into the engine compartment, whether it be through a hole (with FMIC) or even through the top-mount intercooler (which doesn't reduce the scooped air's flow or pressure that much).

I could put a flapper door in that is normally open to let heat out, but then closes when the vent is pressurized from the outside. Prolly not worth the trouble. If I'm willing to remove my STI wing then I'm obviously willing to live with miniscule (if any) lift due to the hole in the hood.

What would've been nice is if Kaminari had an '04+ version of their vented hood (vent in front) when I needed to replace my hood dented by snow falling from my roof. Still not an +04 version available.

Well compared to a stock intercooler scoop, it's probably not hurting you. Compared to a sealed hood, it is.

Agreed. That is probable. I don't have a feel for how much and what this mean in real-world terms.

I htought the Seibon hood had a forward vent on it like the Kaminari. Maybe that's the VIS I was thinking of. I dunno, I hate non-OEM looking hoods.
