Subaru paint code acronym rant - Subaru Enthusiasts Car Club of the Sierras

Okay... it used to be easy to remember. But with all the name changes for car colors every year, I can't keep up anymore.

So, if you intend on using those nifty little paint code acronyms, here's what they now mean to me:

BRP = Brittish Racing Purple (it what gay Lotus' are painted)
SRP = Somewhat Reddish Purple (a little less gay than BRP)
MBP = Mostly Bright Purple (a little more gay than BRP)
WRB = White Red Blue (a patriotic tripple tone)
BPM = Butter Peanut Marmalade (the 3rd grader sammich color)
STM = Sorta Transparent Maroon (I swear I can kinda see through it)

Please for the love of god, if your car is "blue", then say "my car is blue". It's not like there was more than one blue for each model year.

Well you must know what colors we are talking about if you know all the acronyms. But I like the meanings you have for them better. BPM = Butter Peanut Marmalade

Haha, here is my 'car field' on LegacyGT.com, where they really go overboard with acronyms.

Garnet Red Pearl 2005 5-Speed Manual Transmission BL Legacy GT Limited.

Its fun mocking acronym users.

Actually I can see what you mean because most people don't know the codes. I mean, I don't know WRX, Legacy, whatever codes.

There are 2 blues for the Legacy. My sort of purple blue and the watered down blue.

Yeah. My car's paint has some gay ass name that I can never remember, because it's got red pearl in the black paint that you can never see 'cause the thing's always so fucking dirty!

I don't mind acronyms for major option packages. My Audi is a '99 A4 1.8TQMS (Turbo, Quattro, Manual, Sport suspension), but I agree on the color stuff.

A quick Advanced search however pulls up 18 times in the past where Scott has used the term WRB in a post, so there is now a standing contest to catch him doing it again.

It used to be useful, but now that Subaru has a new name every year, for every car, I can't keep up. Hence the rant.
