I know that the tranny was shot (stuck in 3rd gear) and it was otherwise a bit beat down (the previous owner used it to haul wood around his property).

I'm not sure how much he sold it for, but it did end up at Subaru Specialists and is supposedly getting a new 5 speed tranny!

Repair cost was too much. I really just wanted something to commute in and this fits the bill much better. It gets better mpg, uses regular, cheaper maintenance, less police attention, etc... Sold the SVX for about $1500.
