Okay, it's mission statement time for the Technical Chat forum.

The purpose for this forum is to ask and answer technical questions, and to post technical write ups. The goal is that over time, we'll be assembling a resource for other people when they have issues with their cars, or decide to do a certain mod.

Please post only technical questions and technical information, and try to keep replies on topic.

Things like showing off your car don't really belong here. That's "Subaru Chat" or "Off Topic". If there's no "how-to", we don't need to see pics of your spoiler. Think of it this way: if it doesn't try to solve a technical problem, then it belongs elsewhere.

Good examples for this thread are our Brake Discussion and Austin's Home Alignment How-To

Now I'm off to clean up the posts!

Scott, I think your post should begin with "How To post in the technical forum" for it to be approriate for this forum.

I just noticed a rash of posts lately that boiled down to "look I got new stuff for my car". That's not tech info unless you explain the install or propose a discussion about those parts. Post like that are either "Subaru Chat" or "Off Topic".

Oh and posts like "which tires should I buy" are only tech posts if you're looking for tire comparisons, if you're just looking for a good price, throw up a "WTB: Tires" in the Classifieds or ask for help in the Subaru Forum.
