Reno Fernley Updates
Since I don't think everyone gets Rich's announcements, I figured I'd start a thread, and will edit/bump as necessary with the newest on top.
The second one down is very interesting. Please let Rich know if you are interested, and that any weeknd that doesn't conflict with the Reno Region SCCA calendar is great! The more he hears not to conflict the better IMHO. Feel Free to CC E.T. at et@GoneRacing.com ------------------------------------------------- From: Rich Cable richcable@fernleyhills.com Cc: et@GoneRacing.com Sent: Wednesday, April 07, 2004 1:19 PM Subject: Sunset rates at RFR Dear Fellow Racers, Now that the days are longer, we have more time to drive on the track! Some of you have expressed a desire to come out to the track on weekdays after work. Well, now you can! Hourly prices are $25 per hour, up to $75 maximum. If you are interested, please call in advance (during normal business hours) to book a registration. 775 575-7217 office 775 745-1092 cell ------------------------------------------------ From: Rich Cable richcable@fernleyhills.com Sent: Wednesday, April 07, 2004 1:10 PM Subject: Open Track Events - please reply Dear Fellow Racers, The Next Level Driving School is planning to conduct Open Track events at Reno-Fernley Raceway on a monthly basis. Before we schedule the dates, we would like to solicit input from you. Open Track Events will be one day a month, and will be open to all drivers whether competition licensed or not. We will have 3-4 run groups, from novice to racers. There will be 4-5 sessions during the day. Each session will last 20 - 30 minutes. Novices will have instructors. Any racers who offer to instruct will get free registration. Price will be $150- $175 for the day. TNL students will receive a $25 discount. Lunch will be provided. If you are interested in participating, please reply back to this email. Please tell us whether you would prefer weekdays or weekends. Weekend prices will be higher. Also tell us what level you believe you would be: Novice, Intermediate, Advanced or Racer. If you are interested in instructing, please let us know. We look forward to seeing you at the track! E.T. The Next Level Driving School 775 575-7217 tel 775 745-1092 cel -------------------------------------- From: Rich Cable Sent: Tuesday, April 06, 2004 5:42 PM Subject: Rookie Program - for drivers without competition licenses Announcing a new program for drivers who want to drive on the roadcourse but don't have competition licenses... THE ROOKIE PROGRAM The Rookie Program requires drivers to take a "mini-course" on high performance driving before we can let them out on the roadcourse. Drivers who have attended and completed qualified driving school programs are exempt, subject to proof of course completion. Rookies will be permitted to drive on the road course on any test & tune day with certain restrictions. Rookies are not permitted to drive on the track at the same time as racers. Rookies are not permitted to drive at 100% of their car's capacity. Rookies must demonstrate care and safety while driving. Reckless driving, spins or dropping wheels off the pavement may result in loss of driving privileges until they attend a formal driving class. Rookies' access to the track is subject to the track supervisor's discretion. Cost: $150 (includes track rental fee) We strongly encourage rookies to participate in The Next Level Driving School to further improve their skills and learn proper driving techniques. Any questions, call "E.T." AT 775 575-7217 OR email et@reno-fernleyraceway.com. ----------------------------------------------

That's some great news Dean! I'm sending ET an email right now about getting the track for May 1st. I will call her during my drive to LA tomorrow to start squaring things away.

Brought to you by... NASA NorCal head Jerry Kunzman Within a couple of weeks when the track is completed, the new length will be a bit over 2.4 miles. It will be 40 feet wide!! - 4 feet wider than either ThunderHill or Sears Point (Infineon).
