Default 2004 STi vs. 2005 LGT

That's my choice. I think I'm gonna go with the STi, opinions? LGT would be ~$1k less.

You mean '05 STi, unless you're planning on buying used. Since you don't track or autocross, I'd say Legacy. Wagon.

I can't picture JC in a wagon ... but I could picture Me in an STI wagon ..

To be able to offer opinion, I think those of us who haven't, need to go test drive a LGT.

btw: At the Solo I event at Lovelock a couple of weekends ago, Jim Payne was there (and he was wondering where all you guys were), and he let me drive his car for the afternoon runs. That was my first drive in an STi. What a rocket! Before I was out of the 1st slalom, I was telling myself, 'I shooda gotten an STi.".

I went and drove a 5spd LGT today. It's a really nice, real smooth, and quiet. I think I want something more raw and a little flashier though. I'd buy a used STi. Either car will be black. The LGT would probably be a wagon.

I always wanted a black car, I'll probably hate it but oh well.

That's okay...we have too many Sti's now anyway. If Scott goes through with his plan on the WRX, I'll be watching out ...

Legacy GT > STi

Get the Legacy...They are so nice...I went and sat in one and fell in love...Plenty of power too.

Anyone know the difference in cost of ownership?

Something tells me the insurance on an STi is like twice that on a Legacy, esp. for JC who's still under 25 yr. old.

Generally, yes. Even a used 2004 STi will be more expensive then a new 2005 LGT.

I did a quick quote on myself between the 2, and although everyone's price is different due to many factors, the STi was about 35% higher then the Legacy.

According to what I've done with the online quote dealies, the STi is about $400 more a year.

The Legacy is definitely better looking. However I pick women based on looks and cars based on substance.
