Ah, then the 04 WRX harness may be the same as the STi one, but I wouldn't count on it.
And here's the obligatory you-don't-need-a-turbo-timer-for-safety comment. It's just bling/rice.

Okay, so I did some digging, and the 04 STi will work with the 02-04 WRX harness. Not sure yet about 05, and I can't remember which year you have, sorry.
And there's nothing wrong with using a turbo timer, it just doesn't make your turbo last longer like it did back in the days of turbo Zs and Supras.

It's water-cooled for one, and for another Subaru designed a convection flow into the system to make the coolant circulate by convection even after you turn the motor off. The information is in your owner's manual too.

I have a turbo timer, most of my friends with turbo cars have turbo timers, and people who dont usually let their car cool for a bit. I think it's a good thing for turbo cars to have because without them, it just puts more abuse on the turbos.
