All-seasons? You have snow tires. Just run the snows for an extra month and keept he 070s, you'll be glad you did come july.

Can someone with experience running both these and Azenis 615s tell me how they compare? I might be interested in these.

They are almost slicks, Ive driven in the rain with them in the first part of winter and even going less than 60mph they wanted to hydroplane. Is it wrong I want different tires? Im not a freaking racer like you, Im willing to give up a bit of handling for a better all-around tire. |

No, you are correct. The RE070s are a pure summer max performance tire. About as agressive of a street tire that there is.
Relatively speaking, they suck in any conditions other than dry. We can point you to some great 3 season tires if you want to complement your snows. Let us know what your preference is. Performance, or tire longevity. Unfortunately, those two are inversely proportional. We can set you up for about $100 a tire with something that fits your needs.

Since you have dedicated snows, I don't think an all-season makes much sense as they will never see snow. A "summer" tire with good wet traction might be better. The M500, and KDW2s excel in the wet more so than the All Seasons, and being symetrical, can be rotated side to side without flipping on the rims.

thanks for the advice, ill think about it
![]() edit:just looked on nasioc and TireRack and it seems the 550's are actually a bit better. The KdWs didny have too many good reviews, so i think im gonna stick with the 550's. Thanks tho. Last edited by DARKSTI; 2006-02-26 at 04:49 PM. |

i am running kdw2s on my summer rims and they seem to be alright....i currently have pirelli p-zero nero m+s for the winter....in my opinion probably the best 3-4 season tire you can buy...you might want to give those a look. just my 2 cents.

How can you "not notice much difference" between RE070's and your snows, yet describe how much they want to hydroplane? RE070's are designed for maximum dry grip, at the expense of all other handling. Which is why your comment that your snow tires felt the same is so rediculous. And of course it's your perogative to want different tires... hell, it's better for those of us that do race if you sell your tires, 'cause 070's cost too much new. Plus, I'd much rather see people w/o track training on some tires that are a bit more forgiving on the street, if only to keep our insurance rates down.

![]() In particular, I'm curious about the differences in ride quality and dry grip. I just checked the specs on the 070s, and saw that the treadwear rating is only 140. . . is that right? ![]()

Give it a few months, I think at least 2, maybe 3 STi owners will have these on once the warm weather kicks in. Last year nobody had them locally AFAIK.
