Default Solo Annual Tech Inspection

Who is interested in getting their annual tech done next thursday (3/30) at the meet, starting at 6 PM? Jeff Nielsen agreed to hook us up, so I need a rough head count. If you plan to attend, this is what you need to know:

Eligibility-
You must be an SCCA member in good standing with one full season of experience. If you are listed in the season standings on www.renoscca.com as eligible for a season ending trophy, you're in. Except for dirty foreigners.

Requirements-
Bring your helmet if you have one, your valid driver's license, your numbers, and your SCCA membership card. Install harnesses if you plan to use them and show up on the wheels/tires you plan to use, again if you have them already. You will also need a hard copy of the Solo rules. If you don't have one let me know and I'll try to arrange having enough on hand for those who need them.

Inspection Details-
See the rules for everything you need to know. Section 3.3 is where you would be looking.

Annual inspection is *not* required, but it's free and it really helps us out every morning by keeping us from having to inspect the entire grid every event.

Please post or PM me if you expect to be there, so we can be sure to have enough cards, stickers, and rulebooks if needed.

Lastly, this isn't just for SECCS, so anybody who plans to get annual tech is welcome, provided the number of people doesn't get too large for us to get done in time to go inside and eat.

Yeah that's the plan. And safety in the afternoons to balance out RNPs. I would have taken over for Pat as Chief of Tech myself actually, except I didn't know if I'd have time for it and I wanted to be able to be more involved with the club in general before I took that sort of position.

I'll be there... not sure if I'll have my autox wheels/tires mounted by then though, but if that's the case, I'll probably be starting the season on the Rota's/Hankooks anyway.

The wheels/tires aren't super important, especially for people who aren't starting the year with fairly worn tires. It's mostly for people who are concerned about their stuff possibly not passing.

I'll be there and need a paper rule book.

I don't have the time to go check our Sups, but I thought we had a minimum of 1 year running with the region to get annual tech.

I think the chief of tech can waive this, but don't think it is a good idea for novices to have annual tech. It's a good thing to have somebody poke around their cars each weekend to make sure there is nothing rolling around under the seats, and stuff is bolted down... Also makes them get there on time.

I also recall US Citizenship being a new addition to the rules.

Dean, as I understand it, "running for a full season" means qualifying for a trophy, which means 9 events last season IIRC. Last year Pat offered me Annual Tech even though I had only run half of the events. I don't think there's much of a cross section of 'novices' who ran half or more of last year's events.

So- how many people plan to show up? I'd like to give Jeff a rough head count asap.

I assume you want to see car #s, and class letters. So don't forget those everybody else.

Do you expect the car to be stripped to "race ready", or is stuff in the door pockets & trunk etc. OK?

I'm bringing all 3 sets of wheels/tires since they are already in the car from Buttonwillow.

Yes, per the first post, everybody that has numbers should bring them. This will probably also help to ensue you get your number reserved for the season. The car doesn't need to be emptied tonight, but we will be sure to mention anything that needs to be removed during competition. But everybody that's eligible for annual tech should pretty much know, since you've had your car teched at least 9-10 times before.
