Return of the Attacking Living dead wheel deal thread

Nippon Lightstars (or whatever their other aliases are) for $419 shipped. good feedback from the seller too. Specs: 17x7.5 5x100 17 pounds but +40 offset. Bugeye wagon owners would need fenders rolled at a minimum to fit, '05+ WRX owners can run them no sweat.

Those are not a good choice IMHO. I beleive the ones I had were ET 48. They made both, and the 40 really would cause fitment issues on most any Impreza with 5x100.

There are fitment issues, and there are fitment issues. I think these wheels are the former. Anyway, we all know +40 is less than optimal, but for $419 for trackable lightweight 17s that make a good bridge to save up for forgies or RPF1s is hard to beat. Plus the guy might have the +48s anyway...

7.5" wide +40's will be terrible on the bearings, *especially* on the track. For the same money, I'd buy some used Rotas which would be .5" wider, the correct offset, fit more brakes, and not on eBay. At least that's the way I'd go if I was looking for "a good bridge to save up for forgies or RPF1s". Hell, I'd just leave the $400 in the bank, until it was $1000 and skip the intermediated wheels... buying wheels at any price is not "saving up" for anything.
