Stebro Exhaust
As I mentioned at the meet, here's that exhaust for the SVX:
It's supposed to sound fantastic on the SVX, giving the boxer 6 a very exotic porsche sound. But it's $1200, and since it's a Y-back, it doesn't address the issue I have with the bits between the headers and Y that are going bad. Plus it may be too loud for my taste... I want *zero* droning in the SVX since it's a daily driver, and no exhaust will really give it significantly more power. Does anyone know of a good place to pick up exhaust components for cheap? If I were to build my own setup I'd need a good 1-2 muffler (or two 1-1 mufflers), a resonator, and two or three hi-flow cats, plus a good exhaust shop to fab it all up and provide the necessary stainless pipe. Also, here's the list from Stebro's products page: - Alfa Romeo - Audi Quattro - BMW - Ferrari - Fiat - Jaguar - Lamborghini - Lotus - Maserati - Mercedes-Benz - Porsche Under "Other Products" you find: - Austin Healey - Saab Systems - Subaru Systems - Triumph Systems - VW Systems

Stainless exhaust components:
http://www.stainlessworks.net http://stores.channeladvisor.com/verociousmotorsports/ http://www.woolfaircraft.com/prebent.php http://www.burnsstainless.com/ (not so cheap, but quality) http://www.ebay.com/ seriously... In Sparks McVay's has helped me with a few things, but I've never had any major exhaust work done there. I don't think anybody around here has a true mandrel bender (with internal mandrel). If I'm wrong somebody please let me know, because I need some stuff done. Last edited by knucklesplitter; 2007-01-19 at 10:15 AM. |

And, no I don't think anyone in Reno can do real mandrel bending... lots of people have been looking to no avail.

Summit Racing has all the mandrel bent sections, mufflers and such, and no shipping.
SID, C&C, or most places should be able to fab it together. Where is our resident welder?

Scott, do you really need / want stainless? in the Reno climate, Mild steel will probably last longer than you have the car, be much cheaper, easier / cheaper to get worked on, etc.

After listening to some sound clips, I have to say, the SVX sounds like COMPLETE ASS with an aftermarket exhaust. Every clip I've ever heard sounds like a chinzy ricer POS. THWAAP THWAAP!! ...then I watched this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xeo6WoFEZmc SVX w/ a Stebro on a dyno. It's the only SVX w/ an exhaust I've ever heard that doesn't make me cringe. So... it looks like I'm gonna be spending like $1200 on a cat-back. The problem is that I'll still need to get the sections from the headers to the start of the Stebro fabricated... so that's two 2" pipes each with a cat into a single 2 into 1 cat into a factory donut gasket...
