Has anyone in the group put any of the Rota rims on a GC Impreza sized 17x7.5 (+4 ![]() |

If you are rubbing with a 205/40R17 you've got some serious camber issues.

Especially not one that short! I suspect it's a typo, and is supposed to be 225/45?

nope, not a typo...205/40-17 Toy FZ4 The rears are wearing dead even so I wouldn't suspect it is a camber problem. The rims I have are 17x7 with +45 offset and as metioned, they only rub slightly on the sidewalls when the trunk is loaded. It might even stop if I take off the plastic strip in there. I was wondering about the Rota's though because even though they have 3mm more offset, they are usually 7.5 in. wide, not 7's like mine.

And it rubs on both sides? 205/40R17 is crazy small. No wider and way shorter than stock RS tires.

I know what you mean...I didn't expect them to rub at all. The rubbing is so minor though, even 1mm more clearance might fix it. Only happens with a loaded trunk (or passengers in the back) and I hit a decent sized dip, or VERY hard cornering with those same conditions (good swaybars should take care of that one).

I'm actually wondering if it has to do with the thickness of the rear drums where the studs go through...might be thicker than the rotors on an RS. Could account for the difference?

nope...stock L springs in back and what looks like outback sport springs in front (damn car looks like a lowrider...taller in the front by almost 2 inches). PLanning on installing stock RS springs to level everything out...also Tenzo could have mis-advertised the offset. I haven't pulled a rim off yet to measure. in any case, it's not something I'm too worried about...just an irritating buzz when the sidewall touches the fender. This is mainly the reason I was asking about Rota wheel clearance for 7.5 in. width.

Even though mine is an 05 WRX, Not my favorite body style like yours and Cory's, I am running some Rota Subzeros 17 x 7.5 that are a couple years old. I beleive they are +48 offset but not positive. I am running 225/45/17 Nitto Neo Geos for tires and have zero problems whatsoever with rubbing or anything for that matter. I am lowered also with Megan springs. They are on my car and I don't know when you wanted to do this, but I will be at the meet this Thursday if you want to maybe meet before that and pop one off to see somewhere, or what not, let me know cause I'm down to help.

I have a set of 17X7.5 Rota Torques with some old Yoko AVS ES100's that are 215/45/17. You're welcome to try them out some week night here in Stead.
Oh, and positive rear camber would cause your current rubbing issue but likely wouldn't effect wear assuming 0 toe. Just look at the wheels from behind and ensure the rims appear to have at least a little neg. camber on both sides.

ok, that can work. I live up past red rock, so I drive that way every evening. I'm pretty sure the camber in the back is right at zero, but I can check. Will be installing a full set of RS springs and disc brakes (f/r) soon so when I get it realigned I'll have them set it a bit negative just to be sure.

Cool, T,W, or Th of next week would work best for me. I'll help you mount one or all of them up.
Shit, if they fit, we can talk about a fair price if you want to buy them.

An aside; I don't think P45's are offered in a 17" IIRC

Yah, I can't make it to the meet. I could bring one to Stead on Sat. or Sun. or just some weekday night works.
