Default red bulb covers

hey scott where did you find those bulb covers for the dash lights. i called 5 places and no one has them. the red marker is ok but it looks more orange than red. the only place i saw was pep boys and they only had one size- really big.

I got 'em from www.partsexpress.com

Try these: http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showd..._ID=1327&DID=7

and these: http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showd..._ID=1331&DID=7

If the above links don't work for you, go to www.partsexpress.com and search for "lamp cover". You need the .2" covers for the instruments and A/C controls, and the .12" covers for the stereo. They're $1.70 for a bag of 10. I'd get like 3 bags of each, so you can double up if the dash isn't red enough, and have plenty of spares (I honestly don't remember how many lights are in the dash anymore). You might want to PM MattR about them and possible put a joint order together, since I know he's thinking about doing the same thing to the A/C and stero in his STi.

Once you guys get the covers, let me know and I'll be happy to help out with the conversion!

damn i ended up paying more for shipping than i did for parts..hehe oh well. i already know how to get to the bulbs cause i colored them red but before i put the new covers on should i take the red marker off the bulb? or just put the covers on over the colored bulb.

I don't know that you'll be able to really get the red off the bulbs... I'd say just toss the covers over 'em, and call it a day!

Did you already do your radio with the marker too? That's the hard part... you have to actually desolder some stuff to get to the lights behind the LCD screen.

OHS NOS!! Teh Stereo is different! ... I forgot.

Speaking of Stereos... Wanna sell me yours Tyson? I'm tired of the scratched face on mine, and the uneven light from when I broke and repaired my LCD backlight.

I'm Going to order up some bulb covers in the next day or two, does anyone else need some? shipping will be cheaper if you want to get some now. Let me know.

Ben, I think you wanted some, let me know for sure.

Anyone else?

Dude! Thanks to Scott, I got my red bulb swap done today, and it looks awesome, the red is a perfect match,

We "double bagged" the dash/ a/c lights, and "single bagged" the stereo, and the red is a great match. Scott, the uneven coverage we saw while it was light is a non issue in the dark, it looks great.

I'll grab some pics tommorrow after my camera charges up
