Actually it clearly is, with awful response and a wastegate that seems to get overdriven by the turbo when it gets going.

Personally this car is crying out for something around the 20g size and to be honest probably the smaller TD05 given Scott's use for the vehicle being track and AutoX.

Actually I didn't tell the whole story, I could well be wrong as well. Given that this was on whatever crappy 91 Scott left in the tank and coupled with the turbo's willingness to boost it might tell a different tale on real gas say 100 or so and make me have to eat another helping of humble pie.

Personally I am just glad the car is running and making power especially with the unexpected 3+ hours on the dyno it took me today due to setup issues.

Thanks a ton for all the work Mike. Sorry for the condition of the car, I had no idea it was in the shape it was in when I brought it over to you.

I'll probably be going to a bigger turbo in the spring or early summer. I want to see how the Gruppe-S 20G turns out... hopefully it'll fit good with the new housing and cost a bit less than the other offerings. Plus I still think I need a cage before I make the car even faster.

Nice numbers Scott and real credit - Mike. I am surprised at the later spool. That torque curve is not all that different from mine with the GT-12. I would have expected less lag on that thing.

Scott do you have the headers on it yet. If not, I bet you see that torque number jump significantly.

Great to see your car running again.

Headers are on. But they're the Gruppe-S headers, not the GT Spec (or whatever ones you have). I don't think the Gruppe-S headers gain quite as much as yours... but at least they don't sound like ass.

I've got some new numbers. They're down from my original post with the wagon in this thread, however when we ran my car on the dyno at DB the car was putting down less power anyway (~176hp). Check out the torque curve though - coming on pretty early and holding strong.

Still just up-pipe/reflash.

My first dyno run. Torque comes on quick (very happy with that) but then drops to near stock levels up top (the reason for the low HP number).
Invidia Catless TBE
I'm using a Cobb streettuner upgraded accessport.
I loaded a Stage 2 version 1.10 map and reduced the boost DC because I was getting too much boost and some fairly high EGT's. (950C). I set the higher load areas to something in between what cobb had and stock. I need to smooth it out in the higher RPMs.

I have my eyes on one of the Perrin rotated GT30R kits so I might just wait until later.

Stock engine "bpu" DSMs put that out with a 16g and some boost. If scotts car doesnt put out 320+ something horsepower, I'll be disappointed.

Get that 20g!

Whooo-ha, I got you all in check!

Name: Scott Perry (sperry)
Car: 2002 WRX
Mods: EJ257 short block, ported/polished WRX heads, TD05-20G turbo, PE800 injectors, Walbro 255lph fuel pump, Perrin fuel rails, Perrin BigMAF intake, Perrin FMIC, Gruppe-S jet-coated headers, Vishnu flex uppipe, Invidia TBE (catless/resonated).
Wheel HP: (289.3) @ (6000) RPM
Wheel Torque: (286.0) @ (4500) RPM
Dyno: (Mustang @ Gruppe-S)

I'm actually making less peak power than I got out of the GT30-10 turbo, but the torque difference, and area under the curve makes this setup hit like a truck-load of hammers. It's actually too fast to drive on the street, I have yet to floor it in 3rd gear. Maybe once I get the registration taken care of I 'll go floor it up a freeway on ramp or something.

The next step is to decide whether or not to keep the aquamist kit I've got. Gruppe-S couldn't get it working reliably due to the location of the pump under the hood and the tank in the trunk (the primer pump setup just wasn't reliable enough considering the risk to the motor if it failed). I think it will work better if I move the pressure pump to the trunk. However the kit is still a nightmare to install, and I'm not sure I'm qualified to do it, so I may just send the kit back... the car is retarded fast as it is.

Ha! Good luck with that. Does the DCCD have it's own "brain" or do you have an STi ECU or whu?

There is a DCCD control unit, 3 g-force sensors (instead of the single one the car normally has), two switches, and a temp sensor in the rear-diff. I've got all the critical parts, and most of the wiring, but I think I'm probably missing some of the connectors.

Back when I first got the tranny like 10 months ago, I pinned-out the wiring harness and labeled all the wires and connectors... I just have to get around to installing it.

Wait, WRX's have a G-force sensor? Or did you mean STi's normally only have one G sensor? Is the control unit a standalone computer? Do you still have a USDM WRX ECU?

There is a g-sensor in the WRX. I'm not sure exactly what it's for, probably the ABS system. The STI w/ the DCCD adds two more that are used by the auto mode for the center diff.

I am running an ecu out of an '03 automatic WRX. The only reason I'm not using my stock ECU is because I switched to a Cobb AP and didn't want to obliterate my EcuTek license... so I've still got my stock ECU lying around w/ that license on it.
