No the one on the far side of the HP course. Between Turn 6A and 5B. Closer to 6A.

Yeah! I went to four auto parts shops tonight before i finally found a place that had 2 3/4 id hose in stock. I cut myself a piece about 3/8" longer and I think I'm good to go tomorrow. That was my best off yet but it was due to a mechanical failure, not my driving.......I do feel sorry about the dirt/gravel facial I gave Kevin.

Jim Gandy told me today that I need to either charge for lessons, or stop beating up the locals and do some regional/national tours!

I can't believe how fast my car and I were today! IIRC, 87.063 clean. It felt GREAT!

You got it a lot worse than I did. I think you probably scared the shit out of those corner workers though.

Ya, you and Matt were really fast today. I wish I could have gotten a clean run, but pretty sure I still pulled out the win.

Sucks for Court, hopefully it is not too bad.

Nobody likes a showoff.
Would Cody's wheel bearing issue have anything to do with his brake pedal going to the floor? Maybe rubbing on the caliper overheating the pads?

I wasn't bragging, just proud is all!

Likely a combination of grease in the abs sensor freaking out the controller, the offset rotor giving strange piston stroke, and overheat with the rubbing you mentioned all caused his brake pedal to go to shit. It's good it was found when it was, and didn't turn into an even bigger issue.

He came over at the end of the day and asked what was up with you and your car. I said it is a very well setup car with a very good and getting better, driver. It will be interesting to see where PAX comes out. I'm pretty sure you got me, but it is going to be close with some others. My 92.875 in the THS Mazda 3 felt pretty fast. I beat Jim in his TES Miata by over a second raw, so don't take him too seriously.

He did call you one of my protegees. Not sure I can take that much credit, but it was kind of cool.

And I drove Kevin's car home, and I think he needs to soften his dampers. They really launch you off of bumps, so they are probably over damped.

Course for tomorrow is reverse with a few changes. We did not move up the hill.

Probably it was from massive pad knockback as the rotor was deflecting. Rotor deflects, pushes some fluid back in the reservoir, and MC piston runs out of volume before reseating the pads on the right rear. This happened to me when I was losing a bearing in the red wagon last season. (The gouges are still in the brake rotor from rubbing the caliper bracket)

I wouldn't be surprised. It's at 50% on all 8 adjustments right now, probably need to drop to something like 30% bump, 40% rebound. Once I look up which end is which and which way to turn the knob is soft...

As a person who blew a wheel bearing at the track, they start making a lot of noise and fail shortly thereafter taking the rotor and maybe spindle and axle with them.

If your front wheels ever really making a roaring noise, shut it down and save your rotors, axle, and possibly your spindle. Calipers are probably OK, but pads are likely destroyed as well.

Now Cody really needs that set of yellow pads.

Oh, and I think Kevin is suffering from carbon monoxide poisoning after driving his car, so we may have to start talking slower and buy him a padded room/suit. I could not find a good combination of window and sun roof position that completely eliminated it. Drove with my head tilted toward the open window. Good thing no cops saw me looking like a falling down drunk trying to stay awake.

Sunroof open, windows up works pretty well. But I suppose this week I should finally crawl under there and fix the donut gasket flange, I'm sure that's where it's coming from.

This is exactly what I was thinking. I tried to limp it home but it was scarry to drive. Thank God I have a buddy so close to the track.

Sucks it let go in so far away from Nissan. Now I have to let some strangers work on my car. *shudder* My roadside assistance only covers up to 8 miles so I'm taking it to this place called Auto Doc's Complete Car Care a couple miles from it's current location. Any suggestions appreciated.

There is also Pat Housel Auto repair right there in Fernley as well. Might talk to him...

More cowbell! I mean, more volume. I can't tell when you lift/brake easily. Were you having to lift/brake for the 2 offset gates at 1B?

I realize I had way less power, but if I got all the way right, that was an easy no lift gate all the way to the the 3 cone slalom in 1C.

I also found taking the optional slalom between 3 & 4 left was quicker. Did you try it both ways? Again, lower power on the 3 made the shorter distance better I think???

Wow. I saw lots of areas where I could have carried more speed. Nice run!

I wasn't sure if that was optional, there was that pointer cone at the beginning, so I never tried going to the left.

Yeah Dean, I have to lift at 1 B or I was in the dirt. As far as the turn 4 slalom, I tried it both ways, I could carry much more speed into the right hander (turn 4) if I started right. The Hero camera has poopy volume, normal washes out in my car, and lo is pretty quiet. You'll have to turn your volume up. I may just lay some aggressive electronic music over it to really bother you.
