Is that the story of the time you were street racing that guy who was actually running from the cops and got you involved in that rolling police shootout that spanned 3 states and one indian reservation, and that eventually ended in having to ditch the Buick into the ocean by launchin it off a cliff on Hwy 1 while you jumped out of the window and grabbed onto the rungs of a TV helicopter that was filming the chase, hijacking the crew and getting them to fly you to a waiting cigarette boat off the coast of Monterey that shuttled you to a mini-sub which evaded Coast Guard detection while sailing to Guam where you settled down as a small tourist resort bartender for 4 years while waiting for the heat to blow off before smuggling yourself back into the States in a shipment of coffee?

No wonder you don't want to make permanent record of it online...

Whatever, quit making shit up, everyone knows a minisub doesn't have the fuel capacity to run all the way from the CA coast to Borneo. Guam is right on the edge of it's range as it is!

Well, good luck with that car. Try not to kill yourself in it (a friend of mine sailed off a cliff in high school because he was driving like an assclown... it was weeks before they found the body & wreckage).

I didn't think I drove like an idiot at 16 either. I know now that I did drive like an idiot.

You only think that STi isn't too fast because you've never had a close call yet. 80 mph really doesn't seem that fast until the back-end is out or you realize that you want to be stopped NOW... it takes a lot of distance to slow down from 80, no matter how beefy the Brembo's are.

The last thing you want to do is "get used to it", as soon as you're not a little scared, you stop respecting the car and the road, and that's when it will come out and bite you. Never forget, every time you get behind the wheel, it could kill you. You never think it'll happen to you, but the fact is, it does happen, and you're not any more special than the rest of us.

I'm not trying to be a dick, or imply you can't drive... just some friendly advice to *all* the people on here that drive fast-ass cars... which is like everyone but sybir and nKoan.

My car turns faster, is better balanced (it's a wagon, so better weight distribution) and stays pointed the correct direction all the way through the turn

Don't worry, the hooptywagon will be getting an EJ20, if only to stop all of the "is that a turbo?" questions

I was still driving like an idiot at 18, let alone 16... and I thought I was a great driver. The Mustang didn't agree though when I fishtailed my way into a big rock.

You still drive like an idiot.... the only difference now is that you're a trained idiot.

I never put my self in that position. unless it is at a track, i may have an STI but it only goes fast if u press the petle. i wish i could get my back end out. that thing has understeer like none other. if your sideways at 80 obviously you are driving like an idiot and should slow the fuck down, dont mean to be a dick but just bc i am young does not mean i cant be responcible. i have has a lot of time behind a race car and i know what close calls feel like, it just matters how you react to those calls. if your scared of your car i assume you will panic.
